Larry Masters has been the Lead Developer behind the CakePHP framework since May 2005. He has been involved in Open Source development for many years, dating back to his first contributions made to a popular PHP shopping cart, and as recently as 2004, prior to developing the CakePHP framework, he was a core developer for a popular PHP content management system. He has 18 years experience in software development, system administration, and database design. He is a veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm where he was an Engineer in the United States Marine Corps. His passion for excellence is shown in the code he writes and time dedicated to the CakePHP framework development over the past 3 1/2 years.

Garrett Woodworth has been project manager for CakePHP since Sept 2005. He has witnessed its meteoric rise in popularity and spearheaded the creation of resources for the CakePHP community. He believes community is more important than individual honors, lives a mostly ascetic life dedicated to CakePHP, and volunteers as a coach for the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) sailing team. He holds a JD/MBA from Fordham University and has been programming PHP based applications since 1998.

Jitka Koukalová has been actively using CakePHP since early 2006. A network administrator since 1991, she switched to development of web-based applications almost exclusively ten years later. Jitka is fascinated by the inner workings of things, and delights in learning new technologies from the inside out. As a programmer, Jitka is inspired by the inherent possibilities of application development, and loves preemptive problem solving, as well as composing application structures.

After completing his secondary education, Florian Krämer dove headfirst into database development and design, taking on a number of freelance projects before becoming a developer for Cake Development Corporation. Florian brings to Cake DC an expertise in database design, project planning, and project management. His tendency toward perfectionism and organization help him to achieve new challenging implementations, and his close attention to detail reflects enthusiasm and skill in all that he does.

Yevgeny Tomenko, project expert and developer, is an orderly thinker whose passions for information organization and web development merge at Cake Development Corporation. Backed by nearly 10 years of experience, 4 as a teacher of functional programming and web development, Yevgeny takes pride and pleasure in being able to make the world an easier place to live, and feels that CakeDC is the development "philosophy" that helps him to do so. As a part of the Cake development team, Yevgeny is able to use his skills in parallel computing, fuzzy logic, web application development and database optimization to build and enhance client projects that benefit users in both the short and long term.

For Niles Rowland, the journey to becoming a member of the Cake Development Corporation was a long and unlikely one. Having begun his career as a nuclear qualified electricians' mate in the US Navy, in 1983 he happened to find a new toy: personal computers. Niles was quickly fascinated with writing his own applications, and gave up his naval career to pursue a degree in computer science. Since then, Niles has accrued a long list of programming credentials from a number of design and development projects, including a Qmail, Ezmlm and MySQL based mailing list for advertising and marketing, a highly configurable and easily expandable application for data communication with credit card processing centers, and automation systems for various aspects of customer service. As a developer at the Cake Development Corporation, Niles is able to continually learn and apply new techniques and technologies with attention to detail and superior problem solving abilities.

Erin McCargar has been interested in security since 1999 and, while exploring how it intersects with usability, discovered her love for programming. Erin found that focusing on application development combined her love for problem solving with the ability to bring diverse disciplines together to create elegant solutions. After discovering CakePHP in 2006, she has used its structured development environment to focus on flexible, easy-to-use systems. Erin blends problem solving with clean interface implementations, approaching development as a way to empower users with natural-feeling applications.

Daniel Feinberg has been programming for virtually his entire life, starting with his first adventure into hangman and a temperature conversion program which lead to his many years of website development and custom applications. After earning his degree in Computer Science from the University of New Mexico and publishing 2 papers in academic conferences, Daniel moved to Taos, New Mexico where he currently lives. From college he entered the world of internet application development, working independently and for small agencies. In 2006, Daniel began to use CakePHP in his larger site projects and became an active member of the community shortly after.

A self-described "all around geek" with an eye for design and typography, developer Mark Story combines years of experience in design and development with an artistic edge and an insatiable appetite for problem solving and simplification. Prior to joining the Cake Development Corporation development team, Mark has worked as a freelance designer and illustrator, as well as lead developer on a multilingual application used to collect financial information from over 500 non-profit arts organizations. Mark joined the core development team of CakePHP in 2008, and has since brought to the table an approach to development that is at once creative, enthusiastic, and well disciplined. Mark holds a B.Des from the Ontario College of Art and Design in Illustration and design, and currently resides in Toronto, Ontario.
